2009 Trestle Boards March - May January - March June 16th marked our annual Strawberry Festival. Forty brother and family members gathered for the potluck dinner and BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers. As always the dessert was strawberry shortcake made in the lodge kitchen. Many younger brothers showed up with their families, a good sign of involvement and hopefully of things to come. Also that evening we handed our annual Clarence Burden Music Award. The scholarship was presented this year to Matt Curley, a music education major, from New Milford High School. RW Robert Burden, whose father the scholarship is named after, was on hand to assist WM Tim McMullin in presenting the award. (WM Tim McMullin, Jon Grauer, band director NMHS, brother: James, recipient Matt, RW Robert Burden and parents: Jane and Tom) On May 25th, St. Peter's No. 21 gathered once again to pay their respect to all our fallen soldiers. On a beautiful day, they marched down Main Street, and for the second year in a row, demonstrated that Freemasons are still very active in New Milford. Once again there were many town's people surprised to see St. Peter's Lodge outside of the gothic church that only has a full parking lot at night time. We do this by using the teachings of Freemasonry to better ourselves, our community and each other. At our lodge we make Masons and here at our website we show you our history, activities and schedule of future events. The Masonic Fraternity does not invite anyone to become a member, instead we wait patiently for the special man to knock on our door and seek admittance. Perhaps your visit here is that "knock" on our outer door. Feel free to browse our site; investigate us and Freemasonry! See for yourself what we are doing here. We hope this site interests you into becoming a better man and joining the greatest and largest Fraternity in the world. Connecticut Freemasons: making a difference, here and around the world.
