Fraternal Greeting Brothers, As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, mother nature changes her seasons and the earth becomes alive again so too will St. Peter's Lodge become alive with activities. With spring comes "spring cleaning" and we have contacted social services and have made arrangements for coat donations. As you begin your cleaning and run into a coat you do not think you have more use for, bring it down to the lodge and we will take and store it until November, unless needed before hand, when the need for warm coats in town increases. Please donate slightly used and still usable coats. Blankets and other cold weather clothing are also welcomed. If you do not have any clothes to donate then we are also collecting canned and other non-perishable foods to donate to Loaves and Fishes, New Milford's Soup Kitchen. We have notified them and will be collecting food thru out the year but they need the most amount of food for the summer months when donations drop off a little. Please bring your donations or call an Officer on the list and we can make arrangements to pick it up. Every little bit can make a difference. On our trestle board we have still have more candidates that will be receiving the several degrees of Masonry, our annual Awards Night to honor our 50 year recipients and other brothers that have served the fraternity loyally, a tag sale to benefit St. Peter's Lodge, the Annual Memorial day parade, a Ladies at Table dinner and ending with our annual Strawberry Festival/Pot Luck dinner and music award presentation before we go grey for the summer months. Please check the calendar of events or website for times and locations. Come out and support your Lodge for any or all of our upcoming events. www.stpeterslodge21.org In closing my brothers I leave you with some words from a brother from a long time ago that explains what we strive for; our wages as Freemasons and explains them to us. Be well and see you in Lodge.
" Masonic labor is purely a labor of love. He who seeks to draw wages in gold or silver will be disappointed. The wages of a Mason are earned and paid in their dealings with one another: Sympathy begets sympathy; kindness begets kindness; helpfulness begets helpfulness; and these, are the wages of a Mason."
