My Brothers, Christmas time, for some seems to come and go too quickly and for others it can’t be over with soon enough. In either case, to survive the commercialism and the homogenized “Happy Holiday” is quite a challenge. Be it good or bad, all the hustle and bustle can be exhausting on body and mind. I hope you aren’t too worst for the wear and the celebration of your family, friends and faith, those things that you hold dear, made this a special Season. Regardless if one is a Christian or not, as Freemasons, who accept all who believe in God, question comes to mind, what is special about this seasonal celebration of Jesus’ birth? My answer would be that the practical aspects of Jesus’ teachings happen to be our Principle Tenets. Through Brotherly Love, we regard the human race as one family. Through our Masonic friendship and affection, we endeavor to bring Relief to those who need comfort while continually seeking Truth, that divine attribute, upon Whose foundation we hope to build a virtuous character. May we hold our tenets dear throughout the new year.
I’m very happy and humbled to serve as St Peter's WM for 2009. Our current line officers are an outstanding group of guys who are enthusiastic and capable. We’d like to build on our 2008 accomplishments under WB Bill Knipple’s able tenure. Particularly, Bill’s wishes to try to have our degree work done “In House” by our Bros and Honorary Bros. Our older Bros have been very patient and helpful and our younger Bros have worked hard and come a long ways in a short period of time. It’s a credit to all.. The 2009 Goals for St Peter’s Lodge I’d like to us to consider: 1. Maintain the positive momentum regarding our degree work. 2. Endeavor to come up with two more significant fundraising activities. Personally I would prefer these be a one day or one weekend per year kind of activity. The overall goal is to have all our fundraising activities support of our annual operating budget, make a contribution to our capital fund and a local charitable cause. This may seem daunting, but I’m looking forward to giving this our best effort and having some fun as we go. That’s what Masons do – isn’t it? God bless you and your Families in 2009,
Worshipful Master
